Sandy has concluded her second full day of the Diane Ericson Design Outside the Line Retreat workshop in Taos this week. Joining Diane this year is the immensely talented Holly Badgley. Two experienced and creative artisans, 20 sewing and design creatives, and five days in Taos in the fall. Tutorials on creative design and textile techniques are led by Diane or Holly. The atmosphere is excited and interactive, and amazing things happen. How fitting that the gathering occurs at the Mabel Dodge Lujan facility in the epicenter of Taos, NM, a place created by a fierce woman with her own passion to encourage and nurture the creative spirit. And it began on the evening of the super blood red moon so fabulous in the New Mexico skies.
Sandy brought a simple brown and white Kasode jacket to further embellish at the retreat. Today she used several of Diane’s stencils to “finish” this jacket. She is pretty excited by the results.
We will see the fruits of this gathering and its impact on Sandy’s design work over the days and months to come.
