I had an amazing opportunity last week to join in a day long gathering of fiber artists from around the world. This gathering was arranged by the Museum of International Folk Art and the Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center. About 10 New Mexico fiber artists and about 20 international visitors spent a day in collaborative learning and dialogue. Each of the international fiber artists are also vendors at the International Folk Art Festival, which takes place this weekend on Museum Hill in Santa Fe. Thank you to the Museum for securing grant funding to enable these creatives to come to New Mexico a week in advance to share ideas and works with us. On Monday I will post a blog with observations about some of the things I learned.
But, for now, I urge friends in New Mexico to attend this amazing event. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance.
